Axia Showcasing Kerauno Update at ITEXPO

By Kyle Piscioniere, Web Editor

We’re just getting started with ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, happening this week, but big news is already rolling out from the industry conference. Axia Technology Partners is showcasing the newest version of Kerauno, its UC platform.

Kerauno debuted in October of 2014, stressing its icon-driven interface and ease-of-use. The platform was designed to level the PBX (News - Alert) playing field. While most PBX platforms require technical, specialized knowledge, Kerauno strives to be simple, accessible, and intuitive. According to John Harden, Kerauno’s Lead Software Engineer, “We wanted to create a platform that wasn’t just a next gen PBX. No one should have to put in a support ticket to get a simple call flow created or have someone’s name changed.”

To ensure Kerauno’s reputation as an easy-to-use, accessible platform, Axia’s team relied heavily on customer feedback in its latest round of development. Through that feedback, the company decided to include a host of new features, including cross-device mobility, hardware-agnostic capabilities, 3rd-party integration software, and increased call reporting abilities.

Axia’s legacy PBX system, Axia Advantage, is slowly being phased out among its clients. All customers will eventually upgrade to the new, improved version of Kerauno.

This shift is in line with industry trends. Companies are moving to scalable, mobile PBX solutions in favor of analog phones. Third party integration, once seen as a threat to one company’s dominance, is quickly becoming a standard offering of PBX systems. If you’re interested in open-source PBX platforms and the future of inter-office communication, be sure to check out the ITEXPO (News - Alert) presentations “Creating a New GUI for Asterisk” and “Every Business Will Have Hosted PBX and UC.”

The company is offering online demos of their service at www.KeraunoUC.com and will be available for comment at ITEXPO’s Asterisk (News - Alert) World, at Booth 331. Be sure to swing by.
