StratoGen, a leading VMware cloud hosting provider, recently announced that it has been selected as an approved supplier on G-Cloud 5, the government's official online procurement network.

"We are delighted to be part of G-Cloud 5. By providing central government departments, executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies with a cheaper and faster way to access and purchase government-approved IT Cloud products and services,” said Karl Robinson, chief commercial officer, in a press release. “The full range of StratoGen cloud hosting and disaster recovery services will be available to the public sector to purchase via the framework.”

StratoGen Cloud is an enterprise-grade cloud platform that delivers guaranteed 100 percent uptime, 24x7 TECHIE support and secure offsite backup as standard. Available in multiple data centres across the UK, US and Asia; the StratoGen Cloud includes self-service functionality well beyond that of competing platforms. Instantly build networks, deploy firewalls, configure rule sets or create VPN's- all from a single user interface. The solution also offers a seamless disaster recovery solution with extremely low RTOs and RPOs. The StratoGen Cloud tightly integrates with any on-site VMware infrastructure a client may have; enabling a true Hybrid Cloud with a "single pane" management console for both hosted and on-site resources.

Private cloud hosting solutions from StratoGen offer a dedicated VMware cloud platform without having to buy, configure or maintain the underlying infrastructure. StratoGen works closely with its technology partners to provide a one-stop shop, no matter how demanding the business or compliance requirements.

Recently, StratoGen reported results in its private cloud hosting solutions. According to a release, StratoGen reported 145 percent year on year growth in private cloud hosting as enterprises ditched their onsite infrastructure and its associated headaches. The figures also indicate a momentum away from commodity clouds towards private cloud environments which offer better service levels, performance and security.
