Comings & Goings: Tech Execs on the Move

The news this week is absolutely buzzing as big name tech companies welcomed new names and appointed familiar faces to new positions. Let’s recap this week’s tech executives on the move.

Chinese network and telecom equipment services provider Huawei (News - Alert) appointed Mr. Ming He as Country General Manager of its operations in the United States, located in Plano Texas.



The news follows Huawei’s Enterprise Services and Support launch here in the U.S., and He will have “have operational responsibility and provide strategic oversight for both the Carrier Network business group and the Enterprise business group within the United States,” according to the report.

Huawei might experience some hurdles as it pertains to its U.S. move, similar to those with the acquisition of Sprint (News - Alert). How will this bode for the company? Read the details to find out more information.

Also this week in tech execs news is Avaya (News - Alert) who has set its eyes on senior management with the appointments of Amy Fliegelman Olli and Andrea Cunningham for some vacation positions. Olli will fill the role of new senior vice president and general counsel while Cunningham will enter in as the company's chief marketing officer.

The provider of hosted unified communications services ANPI has appointed customer experience expert Marc Klemp as the company's new Vice President of Customer Operations.

“Marc brings an incredible level of efficiency to our organization... He has a background in the development of systems, system automation and leveraging technology to help everyone at ANPI deliver an exceptional experience for our customers,” said ANPI COO Randy Lemmo. “As Vice President of Customer Operations for ANPI, Marc Klemp will drive process and system enhancements, with an ultimate goal of bringing greater efficiency to core functions within the company, as well as continually improving the overall customer experience. Commenting on the matter, Klemp said that “The future for this company is extremely bright, and I'm glad to be a part of the team.”

In the “goings” portion of our headlines, Guido Jouret, the head of the IoT unit at Cisco (News - Alert), resigned after working with Cisco since at least 1994.

According to the report, Jouret left to join Envision Energy, which plans to use sensors and big data for renewable energy.

“We have seen several companies formed with departing Cisco employees that have later been acquired by Cisco. For several executives it happened multiple times. My general sense is that Cisco is very good at enabling this ecosystem of development to expand and contract. While the departures make headlines, I am sure the future will hold greater ones – acquisitions,” said Carl Ford (News - Alert), CEO of Crossfire Media.
