Callis is Red Hot at ITEXPO East 2014

By Allison Boccamazzo, Managing Content Producer

We’re only a few weeks into the New Year and already 2014 is shaping up to be a promising year for Callis, a cloud communications services provider for businesses located across Southeast America. For starters, the company kicked off the New Year with huge news: the regional service provider was just acquired by C Spire, the nation’s largest privately held wireless communications company. The acquisition is described by Callis (News - Alert) Founder Dean Parker as a “great marriage.”

This move undoubtedly strengthens Callis’ reputation as a leading telecommunications company and that’s only scratching the surface of what this fast-growing company has been up to, Parker told TMCnet during Editor’s Day at ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2014. Parker divulged that not only has Callis experienced a more than healthy compound annual growth rate (CAGR), but that C Spire also just built an all-new data center in Mississippi, serving as the state's first ever Tier 3 (News - Alert) facility.

So, how has the company so quickly risen to such high acclaim? The company is uniquely positioned for a variety of reasons, all which have without question served as a springboard for Callis’ success. One such reason is the company’s sharp focus on geographical areas—something that Parker believes plays a vital role in customer engagement and retention—as opposed to such things as verticals and pricing.

“People do business with regional businesses as well as conglomerates,” Parker explains, “But it’s all about the relationship-based sale, lowering customer churn and securing long-lasting relationships. Price hasn’t become the only buying factor; it’s only one of many elements.”

The company also abides by a certain code when it comes to ensuring ultimate customer satisfaction. Parker listed the three things that make Callis such a stellar customer-centric company:

Providing WOW Customer Service: If the customer isn’t smiling and renewing, then something needs to be reevaluated and adjusted accordingly.

Operating a redundant and reliable network: Investing the right amount of capital is critical to ensuring that the most powerful and reliable infrastructure is in place.

Providing Simple (but powerful) Solutions: The company offers simple but fundamental solutions, serving as a one-stop shop for its loyal customer-base.

ITEXPO East 2014 marks Callis’ ninth year attending the renowned business technology event. When asked what keeps the company coming back, he explained that he enjoys being a part of such a close and esteemed community. “This is a chance for us to come back and share what’s working and what’s not working,” he says, especially regarding the smaller guys. “Not everybody’s going to be a billion-dollar company; I believe that regional providers will come together and learn from each other to grow stronger. If I can help, then that’s even better.”

“The market is changing; you can either fear the transition or adapt to find new opportunities,” Parker concludes. “We’re adapting to find new opportunities.”

It’s safe to say that ITEXPO East 2014 is red hot right now, and not just because of the Miami heat. Long-standing show attendees like Callis prove just how vital ITEXPO can be for supporting and strengthening the existing business ecosystem.
