Over the past hundred years, China has emerged as a global manufacturing leader. For this reason, the term “made in China” appears on many products throughout the world. In fact, China produces 60 percent of the world’s buttons. Additionally, 70 percent of the world’s umbrellas are made in China. And the country produces 72 percent of U.S. shoes.
Just because the term “made in China” has become synonymous with many products across the world, however, it does not necessarily mean that its products are of sound quality.
