FDA to Tighten Regulations around Imported Food

Consumers place a lot of  care in the safety of the food they ingest. While the FDA works to ensure that the food products bought and sold in America are of the best quality possible, however, this type of stringent oversight does not exist in every country.



In fact, it might come as a big surprise to learn that only two percent of imported food is actually inspected by the FDA. The other 98 percent goes completely unregulated. To make matters worse, 15 percent of the U.S. food supply is imported.
