Co-located with the ITEXPO (News - Alert) event, set to run August 27 – 29, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Cloud4SMB Expo looks to take on the idea of cloud services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Joining the fray of presenters at the event, meanwhile, will be none other than Fonality's director of product and channel marketing, Daryl Reva.

Reva's presentation is set for Tuesday, August 27 at 10:00 AM, and is entitled “Cloud and the SMB: Pros, Cons & Everything in Between.” With a title like that, it's pretty obvious what Reva's presentation will primarily be addressing, and who is likely to be best served by such a presentation.

It's a topic that makes something of a timely entrance. Most commentary on cloud-based services is geared primarily toward larger enterprise users. While there's certainly more than enough worthwhile uses for large businesses in the cloud, there's also a very substantial quantity of uses in the cloud for the smaller business as well, and that's what Reva will be addressing.

Reva elaborated on his stance, and also provided a bit of insight into where the presentation would likely be going with some advance remarks: “The cloud is transforming how small businesses are able to interact with their customers and complete daily business processes. I’m excited to discuss where this industry is, and where Fonality (News - Alert) thinks it is heading.”

Given that Fonality already provides several cloud-based solutions, like a set of cloud-based business phone systems and a suite of cloud-based contact center software, Fonality has a lot going on in the space. This makes Reva—and by extension Fonality—well-placed to discuss the state of cloud-based offerings for business of all sizes, particularly the somewhat underrepresented SMBs.

Aside from business phone and contact center solutions, Fonality also boasts a line of collaboration tools as well, with a focus on the cloud. Given the rapid movement of a lot of businesses—particularly the SMB—toward a mobile workforce (Fonality will actually have a presentation on the mobile workforce at ITEXPO proper, as well) and a largely decentralized workplace, an offering like this would be particularly useful. Many businesses are coming to realize that large-scale office buildings are major expenses that can keep badly-needed cash tied up in operations that aren't exactly vital to operations. Thus, a growing number of firms are considering the idea of cloud-based operations as a way to scale back the facilities needed, and with that, the accompanying expense.

Of course, there are many other valuable reasons to bring in cloud technology, reasons that Reva will no doubt elaborate on during his presentation. There's certainly more than enough going on in the cloud to catch the attention of any-sized business, and the Cloud4SMB Expo will show that point off in great detail.
