Paula Abdul Live Streams Birthday Party with New App Hang w/

By Melissa Warten, Contributing Writer

Straight up, fans of Paula Abdul now have a new way to connect with the celebrity.

Abdul has recently joined the MEDL Mobile app Hang w/, a social media app that allows users to stream video to followers in real time.

Hang w/ supports the sharing of real-time video from one phone to many. Videos are limited to three minutes for reasons of upholding quality, but they can be frequently restarted and re-uploaded. The app is ad-supported and free to use, with the added potential of users actually being paid to use the site; more followers would create more ad revenue on a given user’s channel, allowing that user to take home a percentage of the money generated by his or her feed. Notable profiles on Hang w/ include talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, tennis star Venus Williams and rapper Timbaland.

Abdul is a singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer, and TV personality. She has had six number-one hits on the Billboard Top 100 chart (tying her with Diana Ross for sixth place among female solo performer chart-toppers); she was also an original American Idol judge and a judge on the American version of The X Factor. Abdul joined the Hang w/ platform last Friday, and celebrated that day by live-streaming her 51st birthday party to her Hang w/ followers.

“We are incredibly excited to have Paula on board,” said Andrew Maltin, CEO of MEDL Mobile. “She’s an iconic artist and we believe her fans will really enjoy Hanging with her live.”
