Pinfluencer Launches New Social Branding Tools with New Name: 'Piqora'

By Colleen Lynch, TMCnet Contributor

Despite the catchy name, Pincluencer has decided to rebrand in order to launch its new tool, enabling marketers to identify and repost trending products. The analytics company is, as of Tuesday, now known as Piqora, and will harness the power of social networks and its own social e-commerce product for brands ‘Gallery’ to help companies market to consumers in a new, more efficient way.

“Search is over saturated. The way to attract mid- and top-of-the-funnel audiences is to find them on social networks and connect with them through interesting content through images,” explained Piqora’s CEO Sharad Verma.

The name change was made because Verma and others at Piqora didn’t feel that ‘Pinfluencer’ reflected the future of the company, and its new suite of marketing tools.

The Piqora system works by pulling first-party data from various sources to determine ROI, and then uses this information to connect its tool to platforms like Coremetrics and Omniture (News - Alert). This way, marketers have the power to determine the pins they wish to make to the company’s website, and gain insight into which of their products are driving the most revenue.

Piqora’s Gallery feature is the tool used to embed trending information on both the company’s website and other designated pages, such as a Twitter or Facebook (News - Alert) Fan page.

The complete suite is designed to support analytics, content management, promotions and social e-commerce all in one, providing companies and their marketing teams better control and the information they need for important business- and product-related decisions.

Data collected and provided by Piqora enables brands to access the price of their in-stock products, and shows similar products and what friends on various networks are pinning. In this way, companies will have their products directly and visually compared to others in a way similar to that of Kayak.com.

This will give consumers more clarity on what companies are offering, and will reflect the popularity of products and revenue trends more effectively.

Companies using the platform already include World Markets and Overstock, while Pinterest’s new analytics tool is in direct competition with Piqora.

Verma plans to combat Pinterest’s foray into analytics with not only a name change, but by giving marketers an accurate and robust sense of what is trending, with images published on Instagram, Flickr and other sites. Although this feature of Piqora is not yet a reality, Verma sees it happening in the near future, as Piqora is meeting its rebranding with new tools and an ambitious business outlook.
