OpenText Acquires Resonate and Launches Partner Program

Enterprise information management (EIM) software company, OpenText, is set to expand. The company just announced the acquisition of Resonate Knowledge Technologies, a provider of software to enable companies to visualize unstructured data and create new user experiences.

With this new asset, OpenText customers will enjoy a simple and flexible user experience, a robust reporting engine and a development platform that enables a competitive advantage over other platform technologies and ECM vendors. More than 500 OpenText customers in 20 countries already use Resonate KT (News - Alert) products, such as WebReports, ActiveView and more.

KT software from Resonate eases ECM use by providing an out-of-the-box OpenText ECM experience that is superior to others. It also delivers a developer platform that allows customers to build their own applications. Customers using these solutions enjoy a reduction in the time and complexity of their deployments, robust reporting, accelerated adoption among the user base and content visualization on the Web, desktop and mobile devices.

"OpenText customers will be able to easily visualize their information, build applications, extract information and drive faster adoption of EIM through the use of Resonate KT software," commented OpenText CEO Mark J Barrenechea, in a press release. "I was impressed with Resonate KT's software the first time I saw it. Resonate KT's products are deeply integrated into OpenText Content Server, which will help customers gain great value. We welcome Resonate KT's staff and customers to OpenText."

To learn more about OpenText and their other activities in the market, TMCnet invited Pamela Bernardino, VP Product Management, into the TMC newsroom at ITEXPO (News - Alert) in Miami. Bernardino not only talked about what OpenText offers and how they meet the needs of their customer base, she also explored the company’s new partner program.

“We’ve had a partner program for some which basically allows our partners to resell our services,” said Bernardino. “What we found is that there are a lot of companies that don’t really want to resell another company’s services, but instead bring us into the customer and allow us to handle the sale on their behalf.”

In doing so, OpenText extends value to the customer and the reseller partner. At the close of the sale, the partner is provided a commission on that sale and the customer enjoys an enhanced solution.
