Sangoma Secures Multiyear OEM Deal with Mutualink, Aircell

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP communications systems for voice and data, today signed a multiyear OEM supply agreement with Mutualink and Aircell. The former specializes in advanced interoperable communications solutions for public safety, while the latter is a leader in business aviation in-flight connectivity equipment and services.

Sangoma's chief executive officer, Bill Wignall, stated that these contracts prove the company's success in the OEM market, adding that together Mutualink and Aircell accounted for $200,000 in initial orders. Indeed, since Mutualink's platform for interconnecting public safety, emergency management and defense agencies and Aircell's Satellite Interface Unit are known to be extremely demanding, these agreements demonstrate a high degree of trust in the quality of Sangoma's technologies.

"Based on the company''s reputation for quality engineering and delivering consistently highly reliable solutions, we selected Sangoma as our OEM partner to provide mission-critical functionality in our Telephone Network Interface Controller that is installed at the communications control center of each participating agency on the Mutualink network," said Mark Hatten, chief executive officer for Mutualink. "Sangoma designed and manufactured a custom layout of its product to fit our requirements in an extraordinary timeframe."

The company's industry-leading solutions portfolio allows a number of disparate TDM and IP networks, clouds, protocols, services, devices and applications to interwork. As such, Sangoma's portfolio includes voice and data boards, transcoding and gateway software, standalone gateway appliances for SS7 and TDM to SIP, wireless boards, multiplexers, Microsoft Lync gateways, and session border controllers. These products enable integration with open and closed source IP PBX (News - Alert) applications, contact centers, unified communications systems and service provider networks.

Sangoma recently added two new products to its portfolio: Lyra Answering Machine Detection (AMD (News - Alert)) for Asterisk and Lync Express. Lyra allows system developers to integrate sophisticated dialer analytics features into Asterisk-based platforms, while Lync Express enables SMBs to take advantage of Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync as a complete unified communications platform.
