The V3 Click, a Portable USB Security Appliance from AhnLab

By Frank Griffin, TMCnet Contributing Writer

The U.S. population stands at 313,847,465, and an estimated 245,203,319 use the Internet, which is a penetration rate of 78.1 percent. The biggest issue amongst all users, especially when it comes to online commerce, is security, and with billions of dollars lost to online theft it is a legitimate concern. The V3 Click gives users a portable security platform that can be used on a computer with a USB port.

The benefit of a portable security solution is its ability to protect the device you use without having to install a large security software. By using a single platform with a cloud computing strategy, AhnLab is able to provide protection for enterprise and individuals. The company offers:

  • Security threat prevention and blocking from the Internet and networks
  • Multiple scan features including Smart and Intense scan
  • Small update file size
  • Installation file of only 6MB
  • Optimizes Home PC and updates newest engine at all times

The device protects against a wide variety of threat sources including viruses and malware automatically.

"Malware and virus authors do not take a break during the holiday season. In fact, they are more likely to increase their criminal activity during this time. We created the V3 Click to be the easiest to use personal security appliance available. Simply plug the device into your computer's USB port and you are quickly protected from those who are trying to steal your holiday cheer by wreaking havoc on your computer," said Philip Kim, CEO, AhnLab.

The all-in-one V3 Click comes with everything you need to protect the device you are using. Unlike other security software, it uses a small amount of your computer resource so it will not affect performance. Once it is plugged in, it installs in less than one minute and it doesn’t need activation or serial numbers, an e-mail address or any other personal information. The device is the only authentication you need to start using it. A red LED light on the device means there is a potential threat and it is isolated and removed by pressing a button once. Additionally, it provides tools to optimize your system and offers a 2.7 GB secure storage.
