Avoid Seeing Red with These Go-To Black Friday Apps

By Brooke Neuman, TMCnet Copy Editor

Thanksgiving Day is the calm before the shopping storm. Once the delicious Thanksgiving meal is finished, families, friends and relatives feverishly gather around the dining room table planning the ultimate Black Friday (News - Alert) shopping strategy. Whether or not you’ve mall-walked for weeks scoping the best and fastest routes, nothing can prepare you and your team of shoppers for this unpredictable shopping frenzy. Or is there?

We’ve got some go-to Black Friday shopping apps to help bargain hunters across the country check every last cashmere sweater and shocking stuffer off their list.

TGI Black Friday App:

Thank God it’s Black Friday! Powered by TGIblackfriday.com and DealCatcher.com, the TGI Black Friday app allows users to search and view over 10,000 Black Friday deals across all major retail stores. The app provides users with up-to-date ads and push notifications in real time. Compare prices on thousands of items to get the ultimate deal. Downloadable PDF ad scans are also available within the app. Create a personal shopping list and share with friends and family via Facebook and Twitter (News - Alert).

RedLaser App:

The RedLaser app is the ultimate bargain hunter. The program does the searching for you, searching millions of products and deals from your favorite online and local retailers. Scan item barcodes including UPC and QR codes. Skip the crowded lines and buy crave worthy products right from your phone. Even better, the items can be shipped to your home or picked up in-store. Redlaser also provides users with product reviews, descriptions and related products. Similar to the TGI Black Friday app, users can create and customize their shopping lists to share with family or friends.

MyCityWay Now App:

Planning. It’s what separates the boys from the men and the bargain winners from the bargain losers. MyCityWay, a customizable city guide, will help you plan the ultimate Black Friday strategy. The app displays over 30 categories deemed “essential” for anyone living or travelling in major cities. The app provides users with real-time traffic feeds, weather, directions, gas price comparisons and Wi-Fi hot spots, so you have no excuse come game time. Be prepared when nature calls or your tummy rumbles with the apps block-by-block search tool.

The Big Three:

It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention the Black Friday apps for Wal-Mart, Target (News - Alert) and Amazon. This year, Target is helping parents convince their little ones that “Santa” is indeed real, by keeping presents secret. The app allows in-store users to scan QR codes of the 20 most popular toys. Users can then buy the item from their phone and have it shipped for free to their home.

Amazon’s Price Check app is lifting the heavy load off shoppers, by comparing in-store prices to prices on amazon.com. The app, combined with Amazon Prime and 1-Click Ordering, gives shoppers the ultimate upper hand and deal.

The Wal-Mart app is taking a different route this shopping season by providing users with maps of individual stores highlighting big markdowns and sales. The app also boasts a barcode scanner that displays what’s in your shopping cart and just how much you intend on spending.

Arm yourself with these Black Friday apps and remember to lace up your Nikes and stretch before leaving the house.
