Parasoft Showcases New APIs at Cloud Expo 2012 Santa Clara

By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Web Editor

Parasoft (News - Alert) is a company that has existed for 25 years in the application quality space, providing development testing platforms and functional testing for environment management.

I sat down with representatives from Parasoft at the Cloud Expo 2012 Santa Clara, where we spoke of the company’s most recent product releases and its exciting announcements at the show.

The company’s latest release, Parasoft Virtualized, is a service virtualization product which monitors APIs or transactions. For example, with as many as 10 dependencies, such as collecting data, with many that are external, building a test environment is impossible. But watching transactions with independent systems, Parasoft can create a test environment out of it, manipulating behavior in the transaction, as well as data, performance, high or low latency, managing it as an environment.

At the Cloud Expo event, Parasoft announced the newest version of its APIs, mature and external for building composite applications. As soon as a user expresses a connection to internal or external components, monitoring for changes in performance consistency, set up rules to see what degree of change will trigger an alert.

Building a test environment is good, it can alert developers for quality assurance and change the way they work.

In many cases, developers working in agile or parallel development code applications, code API or endpoint changes don’t get alerted to these changes. But proactive alert notifications or change updates on what developers need to do. Multiple, disparate teams can come to a common agreement about the behavior of APIs and come to conclusions about standard behavior and unilateral notifications of change.

Existing Parasoft customers have already upgraded to beta pre-release. The beta testing went well, and had good responses, according to company officials.
