Buyers of iPad Mini Will Be Thankful for Thanksgiving Delivery

By Brittany Walters-Bearden, TMCnet Contributor

Those who purchase the iPad Mini with LTE capabilities will have to be patient in waiting for the delivery of their new tablet, as delivery for online purchases should expect their delivery to come the week of Thanksgiving.  The Apple website is stating mid-November as its delivery date, but purchasers have said on Twitter (News - Alert) that the highly anticipated new tablet should arrive on November 23rd with standard shipping and November 21st for those who opted for the expedited shipping choice.

Apple will release the new iPad Mini, sans LTE (News - Alert) technology, with Wi-Fi only on November 2nd. The 7.9-inch model is coming at the time when Kindle, Google and Blackberry have much smaller models available that provide a more compact version of a tablet, as opposed to the large 10.1 inch typical tablets offered by Apple, Samsung (News - Alert), Asus and others.

Apple's (News - Alert) stores are now showing that the Wi-Fi-only white iPad Mini's initial supply is sold out. Since going on sale online at 3 AM EST this morning, it has been reported that the white model sold out in just twenty minutes, a remarkable timeframe, even for highly coveted Apple products.

Customers who order now will have to wait two weeks to get their hands on the device. The Wi-Fi only model will work at the traditional Wi-Fi hotspots and the LTE model will run on Sprint (News - Alert), Verizon, and AT&T networks, along with the traditional hotspots.

Despite the waits and the sold-out status of products, Apple’s cult-like following is unlikely to be deterred by a few minor setbacks. The iPad Mini is the first completely new Apple product to hit the market in some time, making even the promise of one in the mail exciting for Apple users, who are notorious for being early adopters and for going to great lengths to get the newest product on the market.
