Polycom (News - Alert) recently released a new portfolio of solutions designed specifically for medium-sized businesses. These solutions make it easier to purchase, install, deliver and manage high-quality, enterprise-grade video collaboration. Included in the portfolio are Polycom RealPresence Collaboration Server 800s, Virtual Edition, as well as a number of new RealPresence video endpoints.
Polycom RealPresence Collaboration Server 800s, Virtual Edition, the main draw of the portfolio, offers industry-first open standards-based SVC, interoperable with AVC. It features 3X HD multipoint video capacity, resulting in greater scalability, greatly lower TCO, as well as both backwards and forwards compatibility, eliminating the need for expensive gateways or hardware.
Other solutions include: Polycom RealPresence Group 300, an enterprise-grade video collaboration system that supports 1080p video at 60 frames per second, but is still affordable and; Polycom RealPresence Desktop 2.0 for both Mac OS X and Windows and Polycome RealPresence Mobile 2.0 for both iOS and Android (News - Alert) devices for video collaboration outside of conference rooms.

The company also recently released the RealPresence CloudAXIS suite, securely extending the Polycom RealPresence Platform's video and content collaboration outside the enterprise within any Web browser.
Polycom, a provider of open standards-based unified communications, is planning to announce its third quarter 2012 financial results October 23, following the close of market.
