Premiere conference addresses unique needs of small and medium businesses in the cloud October 2-5 in Austin, Texas
NORWALK, Conn. – August 30, 2012 – The Cloud4SMB Expo continues to grow its unique conference program, and has offered special pricing for participants that register by the end of August, TMC announced. Cloud4SMB Expo is the first and only conference that tackles the opportunities and challenges of the cloud from the perspective of small- and medium-size businesses (SMBs), and is collocated with ITEXPO, the world’s largest and best-attended communications and technology show, held October 2-5 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
On Tuesday, October 2, at 2:30 p.m. CST, speakers from Cologix, CenterBeam, IBM and IntelliCom Analytics (News - Alert) tackle one of the most pressing issues in the cloud for SMBs: “Defining Your Cloud Strategy – Full Migration vs. a Hybrid Approach.” In the session, panelists will help attendees better understand the cloud landscape and alternative strategies being successfully implemented across the SMB market. Attendees will learn how to determine which migration strategy is best for their businesses, along with the keys to ensuring a successful migration.
At 10 a.m. CST on Wednesday, October 3, Erin Harrison, Executive Editor, Strategic Initiatives for TMC leads a session on “Fighting the Monsters Under your IT Bed: Securing the Cloud,” with speakers from Dome9 (News - Alert) Security and cBeyond sharing proven tips and new approaches to help businesses successfully securely connect to their cloud services and enjoy the benefits of cloud computing without putting their businesses at risk. While the cloud provides businesses with a more secure IT investment, many don’t realize the data protection risks of public networks until it’s too late. As a result, CIOs and business owners are kept up at night worrying about the security of their mission-critical data, not realizing that a private, secure intersection of network and cloud services can provide a cost-efficient elixir to help them sleep easier.
“Small and medium-sized businesses have a lot to gain by taking advantage of cloud solutions, but they haven’t received a lot of guidance in understanding how they can best utilize the cloud to their advantage,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), TMC CEO and Conference Chairman. “Cloud4SMB is specifically aimed at providing SMBs with the real-world knowledge and information they need to compete and succeed.”
Cloud4SMB is supported by Platinum Sponsors GFI, IBM, Verizon and Vocalocity (News - Alert); Gold Sponsors cBeyond, Entreda, nGenx, R1Soft, Stoneware, Verio, ViaWest and Hostway; and Sponsors GoToAssist by Citrix, Okta, and Zenith InfoTech Ltd.
Registration for Cloud4SMB is now open. Special pricing for attendees is available through tomorrow, August 31; early-bird registrants can save $500 off the registration rate of $795.
