Cyber-Bullying, Texting and Driving Awareness Increases

By Lyndsay Krisel, TMCnet Contributor

A new patent pending software, developed by Web Safety Inc., the online security software provider of mobile phone applications, designed to protect children from cyber-bullies, sexual predators, and texting-related car injuries, has been recognized as a useful solution to the wide range of Internet bullying and phone- related accidents that can all too often take the lives of children.

Every week, national news outlets report several unfortunate incidents in regards to cyber bullying among young kids, and texting and driving accidents. WebSafety’s program ensures that parents will be notified of the dangers their children encounter through text messaging, and can disable their ability to text and drive.

“National News continues to identify these terrible tragedies, accidents and injuries that are taking place in our communities each week. Parents need a technology solution to solve the social problems that mobile phones are creating in the hands of pre-teens, teenagers, and young drivers,” explained Rowland W. Day II, CEO of WebSafety.

“For the monthly price of $5.99 per child’s mobile phone, parents can be alerted regarding dangerous situations in which their children have been placed. Parents spend over $5.99 each week buying premium coffee at Starbucks. It is sad that parents don’t think their children’s safety is worth the price of the two cups of premium coffee.”

WebSafety works it’s hardest to provide the widest range of words for communicating disastrous situations. It picks up specific slang words and catch phrases that have anything to do with cyber-bullying, sexual behavior, harmful activities or a derogatory, vulgar and suspicious phrase, that automatically triggers text-message alerts to parents, when the child is being communicated with.

The app also amazingly prevents texting and driving accidents, by disabling the phone’s ability to text, e-mail, or browse the web while in a moving vehicle. Sounds to me like the perfect solution to the multiple accidents we hear about in the news. It is time we start being inventive in regards to our children’s safety, and the safety of our communities in general.
