GroupLogic's mobilEcho 4.0 Keeps Files Under Control

By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer

Almost all businesses understand the importance of files. Paper files, electronic files, all the files that make up a business' operations—be it day-to-day or long-term—are all vital and keeping track of all those files is even more so. To that end, yesterday, GroupLogic revealed its newest mobile file management system called mobilEcho 4.0 that has been created to make files both easy to find and work with.

GroupLogic's mobilEcho 4.0 brings plenty of management tools to the table as part of its normal operations. With mobilEcho 4.0, users will not only be able to browse or search for files on corporate file servers, but also access, edit and preview these files and even store them for offline access later. Also included is AD Home Directory Access, which gives users access to those files in their home directory, as well as Quickoffice "Save Back" support, which allows files generated from Office like spreadsheets and documents to be not only edited, but saved back into mobilEcho from the device or from the server.

Additionally, the Active Directory system gives mobilEcho easier integration into current security systems, support for HTTPS Reverse Proxy authentication in both password and certificate, secure encryption for files on the mobilEcho server via both HTTPS and Apple (News - Alert) Data Protection, and an optional time-based lock or wipe system for those who stop connecting to the mobilEcho server.

The mobilEcho 4.0 system is currently available, and users interested can request a quote directly from GroupLogic to determine just how much it will cost. It's certainly going to provide a lot of solid advantages in file management though and this is a terrific example of a cost-cutting measure that results in gains in productivity, thus providing support to the bottom line on both of its primary fronts: lowered costs and increased revenue.

While mobilEcho 4.0 may not necessarily result in higher profits, it does go a long way toward providing the secure file management necessary to not only keep files protected but accessible via remote channels.
