Sprint Ranks First in Customer Satisfaction Among Major U.S. Wireless Providers

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

U.S. wireless provider, Sprint (News - Alert) has once again been rated number one among major wireless carriers in terms of customer satisfaction, according to results from the 2012 American Customer Satisfaction Index. The survey, released today, also ranks Sprint as the number one most improved company in terms of customer satisfaction across all industries over the last four years.

Additional findings found that wireless customers “continue to feel a greater sense of loyalty” toward Sprint, while the network provider is the only national carrier to see consistent improvement in this area since 2010.

Sprint also came out on top in the ACSI survey in terms of call center satisfaction. The carrier is also quick to point out that it recorded its lowest levels of calls to customer care per postpaid subscriber during the first quarter of 2012.

Lastly, Sprint is the only company, out of all of the 47 ACSI measured, to improve its customer satisfaction from last to first from 2008 to this year.

Dan Hesse (News - Alert), Sprint chief executive officer, said of the results, "Not only to come from last place to first place in our industry, but to be the most improved U.S.  company, period, over the last four years in the ACSI survey is a testament to the relentless focus the people of Sprint have placed on serving our customers."

Sprint has also received recognition from entities other than the ACSI in the realm of customer service as the company was ranked by J.D. Power and Associates as highest among full service providers in its 2012 Wireless Purchase Experience Study, Volume One. Last month, Sprint Wholesale received four 2012 Domestic Best-In-Class Awards from ATLANTIC-ACM in the categories of Network, Provisioning, Customer Service and Sales Representatives.

Earlier this month, Sprint joined the Tizen Association in support of the open-source Tizen software platform while adding vice president of Product for Sprint, Fared Adib, to the Association’s board of directors. Around the same time, Sprint also released Sierra Wireless’ 4G LTE Tri-Fi Hotspot device, exclusive to its network.
