Mobile iRepairDoc Fixes Your Busted iPhone or Your Money Back

By Jack Grauer, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Dropped your iPhone (News - Alert) in the toilet? Washed it with the whites again? iRepairDoc will resuscitate it. If they can't, you get your money back.

Company founder Benjamin Head worked as an airline pilot for 15 years. As a frequent traveler, he noticed the total lack of quality repair service for mobile Apple (News - Alert) devices. On the bet that Apple product owners across the country shared this frustration, he started the iRepairDoc company.

Here is the business model: no matter where you are when your phone breaks (at home, at a coffee place, etc.), give iRepairDoc a call and set up and appointment with them. One of the technicians comes to meet you, and tries to fix your phone. If they can, you pay them a $9.99 service fee on top of the cost of repair, which will run you somewhere between $1 and a $140. Fees rarely break $100. If they can't fix your gadget, you don't pay them a dime. Whether you have a busted iPhone 3G, 3Gs, a 4, or a 4S, they'll work on it.

iRepairDoc operates out of Denver, and you can contract their services anywhere between Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. They also offer same-day returns via mail order if you live outside of their service area.

Though they deal primarily with cracked screen, iRepairDoc will also replace batteries, minimize water damage, and fix broken buttons. The company accepts Mobilized credit card processing, and all major credit cards. They also provide a 6-month warranty for every repair.

Though iRepairDoc calls their service "customer centric," it also makes a lot of sense as a corporate solution, as their website points out. Let's say you run a business with 1000 employees. AT&T (News - Alert) charges an insurance premium of $6.99 per-month. When you crack a screen, you are looking at a $199 deductible on top of the premium.

Suppose 10 percent of these knuckleheads are going to break their screens at least every 18 months. You're paying just over $145,000 over to keep these idiots with phones in their pockets. If they use iRepairDoc instead, you would be paying something more in the tune of $20,000.
