Messenger Plus! Upgrade Delivers New Features for Skype

By Jacqueline Lee, Contributing Writer

The first version of Messenger Plus! for Skype (News - Alert) 1.0 featured free animations as well as the recording of video and voice calls. Now, with Yuna Software’s release of the latest version of Messenger Plus!, Skype users can add special video display effects, voice changer and translation into several languages.

“Messenger Plus! for Skype 1.2 continues to season Skype with cool technology,” said Alex Shamash, business director of Yuna Software. “We're pleased to have added so many additions to the original product in such a short time and hope that Skype users will be as excited as we are to get such a feature-rich product that is practical as well as fun, absolutely free.”

With video transformations from Messenger Plus!, Skype users can change their video display colors, bulge and shrink their images, create mirror effects and clone themselves online. The application also allows callers to be identified by their ringtones as well as allowing users to change, modify or amplify their voice with a library of alien, robotic and other entertaining sound effects.

The new version of Messenger Plus! also allows users to display texts in their video conversation, using their favorite fonts, colors and positioning. When a user throws an emoticon into the text, the software produces built-in emoticon sound effects.

The slick toolbar interface, along with the chat log viewer and call recording capability, makes the Messenger Plus! add-on a great value, particular because it costs nothing to install. Messenger Plus! can be downloaded in 22 languages.

Yuna Software published a change log on their site that delineates the new features of the Messenger Plus! upgrade. “Combining our many years of experience and proven track record in providing a great add-on for Windows Live Messenger as well as our willingness to brave new horizons, we're confident that Messenger Plus! for Skype is going to become a smashing hit and will be thoroughly enjoyed by the both the Messenger Plus! and Skype communities.”
