Primed for Company Growth, Media5 Launches Investment Round

By Tammy Wolf, TMCnet Web Editor

As the smartphone market continues to plow into the future, there are companies eager and equipped for the ride – one of those being Media5.

A global provider of IP-based multimedia communications solutions, Media5 has just revealed that it has kicked off a capital investment round to secure the next stage of company growth in its market. It’s certainly a logical step for the company, which has found its niche in the burgeoning smartphone technologies space through innovations like bringing to market its new Media5-fone, readying its VoIP gateways for IPv6, and achieving interoperability with Broadsoft. Over the last year alone, Media5 has maintained its leadership position in the VoIP space, with its VoIP solutions now certified in over 75 countries.

“Media5 has consistently delivered year-on-year growth in its core businesses,” said Philippe Babin, general manager of Media5, in a press release. “We have also continued to invest in R&D to ensure that we have the team and the technical expertise to offer the next-generation of advanced multimedia communications solutions. Our financial performance in FY 2011 and newly minted agreements with key partners clearly demonstrates that the Company is positioned to extend its leadership position in the market.”

In its investment round efforts, the management team and board of directors for Media5 has also tapped RSM Richter to deliver management consulting and transaction support services.

Other recent accomplishments worth noting from Media5 include the delivery of pre-integrated voice support for optical network terminators, a new mobile softphone app for Android (News - Alert), a green initiative to comply with internationally accepted environmental practices, and attendance at worldwide conferences.

“Despite challenging economic conditions, Media5 has demonstrated four consecutive years of positive financial operating results. Now is the time to accelerate our international expansion,” Babin continued.

Coinciding with the company’s investment round, Media5 also revealed today the launch of the new Media5-fone BBCom Edition, an IMS MMTEL compliant softclient for iOS devices. Building upon the Media5-fone feature set, this softclient will now make it easier for operators and service providers to deploy multimedia communication solutions and simultaneously boost ARPU.
