Mobile Blogging Made Easy With Blogsy

By David Vaughan, Director of Projects, TSG Global

Blogging; what a wonderful world we are in now with the ability to get on the soapbox of our choice and speak about the driving forces behind our passion.  I truly enjoy it, and from the vast number of available entries to read on the Web it is apparent that many others do as well. In fact, most individuals or companies first websites are actually blog type sites since there are so many helpful avenues available that require minimal effort to get started.

Of course, the other buzzword growing in popularity is being 'mobile.’  I myself began blogging long before ultra books and tablets were abundantly available, but now that they are it is even more necessary to simplify the ability to blog while being mobile.

 Introducing Blogsy for the iPad

Simply put, Blogsy gets as close as I have found to interacting with the actual WordPress interface.  It is an awesome app for not only building, but maintaining your blogs such as WordPress or Blogger.

Feature Rich

Images, videos, audio and more; Blogsy allows you to place everything where you want, and customize it how you want.  I know there are a bunch of other apps, some having been around longer than others, but when it comes to enabling you to interact with your blog as much as this app does, the others out there fail in comparison. Let's take video or photos for example; right at your fingertips you have the ability to place them from sources such as YouTube (News - Alert) or Picasa.

For the more advanced, Blogsy offers HTML editing.  For the novice users, most things can be done from the simple UI, but for the advanced who want to tweak the HTML code to their liking, they are able to directly access it right from inside the app itself.  When you are done, or if you want to check and see how it comes out in a browser then you can do this from inside the app as well.

The only downside at the moment to the app is the extended abilities for working with areas such as custom fields. This function doesn’t exist so I typically have been doing the majority of work while in Blogsy and then finish the work from the browser interface.  However, even with that missing, this app is still the most complete I know of currently, and hopefully as time goes on we can look forward to some updates to bring these items about.

Set-up is simple, and if you have not given this app a try I suggest you do.  It is available from the iTunes App Store.
