Charges against Tech Writer Thrown Out

By Chris DiMarco, TMCnet Web Editor

Tech writer David Pogue has had the disorderly conduct charges leveled against him dropped as of Wednesday, reports the Westport Times.

The original incident occurred on May 19th when Police were called to the Pogue’s Westport home after his wife, Jennifer, stopped by the house to pick up their children for visitation time. The interaction became violent and resulted in allegations that Jennifer bit Pogue’s arm resulting in him assaulting her with a cell phone. The couple is reportedly in the middle of a messy divorce and the custody arrangements for their three children were a direct focus of the altercation.

Both Pogue and his wife received a summons and after a preliminary hearing and were scheduled to reappear in court this Wednesday. The charges against the couple have now been thrown out after they appeared at the state Superior Court in Norwalk.

Often billed as a “gadgets guru,” David Pogue frequently appears on radio and TV programs, including CNBC’s “Power Lunch,” “On the Money,” and CBS News Sunday Morning” several times a year. An author of several books including “The World According to Twitter,” David Pogue has been providing his commentary and tech insight to the New York Times since 2000.

More details on the story will be offered as they become public.
