Pearson eCollege Opens New Offices in Mexico and Brazil

Online learning has been expanding over the years thanks to lower costs and convenience. Also referred to as “distance learning” people can take advantage of taking classes where ever they may be at anytime, just as long as their weekly class work gets done.

 

As reported by TMCnet Contributing Editor Anuradha Shukla, Pearson eCollege has expanded in Latin America by opening new offices in Mexico and Brazil.

 

Through these new offices, the company aims to increase educational opportunities for students of all ages throughout Latin America. This expansion reportedly builds on Pearson eCollege's global presence which includes the United Kingdom, Asia and Australia.

 

Matt Leavy, CEO of Pearson eCollege believes that the alignment of Pearson's content and Pearson eCollege's technology in Mexico and Brazil will introduce proven solutions for the region's expanding education programs.

 

He noted that innovative methods of teaching and learning, in the classroom and online, can create opportunities to bring about real change in peoples’ lives in this region. Pearson eCollege has noticed a steady t growth of enrollments, an increasing 400 percent, in post-secondary institutions for more than a decade in Brazil.

 

A recent survey indicates that online course enrollments are steadily increasing online courses which typically provide students with on-demand convenience. Kenneth C. Green, founding director of The Campus Computing Project, the organization that designed and managed the survey, noted that online courses often save students time and money because they are not commuting to campus.

 

The popularity of these courses has driven a number of institutions to adopt Pearson eCollege’s solutions.
