OpenPeak Intros New Multimedia IP Phone for Business and Hospitality Markets

More and more businesses are turning to Voice over Internet Protocol to cut costs and better manage their services. Now, OpenPeak Inc., a provider of VoIP multimedia telephony systems, has launched the ProFrame system, the first multimedia IP phone that can function as an all-in-one voice, data and rich media information center for the business and hospitality markets.

Powered by the Intel Atom processor, the ProFrame phone pairs a user-friendly touch-screen interface with the accessibility of rich media content into an all-in-one information command center.

The device operates on a high-performance, low-power platform, which has the ability to deliver advanced rich media applications and graphics combined with landline voice quality over IP, all in one affordable package.

OpenPeak’s ProFrame system brings simplicity, intuitive navigation and interactive, rich media content to the office environment, noted Dan Gittleman, CEO of OpenPeak.

The ProFrame phone has been designed to merge common PC-based functions such as a contacts database with traditional phone-based features like voicemail and call conferencing. As the system synchronizes easily with common office applications, it ensures contacts, calendars and other data are always up to date.

In addition to ensuring easy and dynamic delivery of firmware upgrades and future applications, the ProFrame management server provides an easy to use back-end Web administration function.

Gittleman explained that ProFrame solution is vastly more affordable than traditional systems due to their simple set-up, ease of use, and proprietary technology.

Also, the ProFrame platform functions as an in-room concierge for the hospitality industry and provides guest services and information that enhance the in-room guest experience. Also included in the device are the charging and data ports that accommodate cell phones and also help synch information to a Web-enabled smartphone.

The ProFrame phone is ideal for the hospitality industry as it can provide guests with information about on-property amenities, and also allows property managers to add local content that is appropriate for their guests, noted Gittleman.

“There are also numerous opportunities for down-stream revenue through partnerships with local attractions to provide content and information about their offerings directly to guests,” he added.

OpenPeak has also included a sophisticated array microphone in the ProFrame system that helps in noise suppression, and premium level speakers for high quality hands-free telephone conversations. The company is also offering an optional fingerprint swipe sensor to provide biometric user identification and authentication.
