AVST's Unified Communications Platform Now Supports GotVoice

Do you sometimes find yourself sometimes missing important information from voicemails because of noise pollution or audio trouble? Now, that Applied Voice & Speech Technologies’ flagship Unified Communications platform, “CallXpress,” now supports GotVoice (News - Alert), receiving and understanding information from voicemails will be as easy as one, two, three.

CallXpress is designed to help organizations productivity by delivering call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, fax, notification and speech-enabled personal assistant and automated attendant capabilities.

GotVoice will help business users quickly view their voicemail content when access to audio is prohibited or challenging. GotVoice’s Voicemail-to-Text functionality will enable CallXpress users to read their voicemail messages on their mobile device or computer.

AVST (News - Alert) officials say that when a customer receives a voicemail message at an inconvenient time, CallXpress receives the voicemail message and sends it to the GotVoice transcription service, which then transforms it into text.

GotVoice employs a two-part process for voicemail transcription, when a message is received, it fine-tunes and cross-checks messages for accuracy. GotVoice then sends the messages to a user’s e-mail or as a text message.

Tom Minifie, AVST’s chief technology officer, said that it is now simple for CallXpress users to upgrade to speech-to-text capabilities, because GotVoice is natively supported by CallXpress and works right out of the box.

He said his company was a pioneer in providing e-mail reading over the telephone by using text-to-speech technology, and emphasized that the integration with GotVoice proves AVST’s best-in-class approach to providing next-generation UC functionalities.

Voicemail-to-Text streamlines the communication process and allows messages to be received conveniently by the recipient, said Colin Lamont, vice president of Marketing for GotVoice. The users can quickly scan messages for importance and reply accordingly, which improves their productivity and efficiency.

Earlier this month, AVST announced that CallXpress support of Symantec (News - Alert) Enterprise Vault platform for voicemail archiving. Under the agreement, AVST will leverage Vault Solutions’ Archive Accelerator to store CallXpress voicemail messages in Symantec Enterprise Vault.
