PrismTech Announces Vortex Edge PMQ - Predictive Analytics at the Industrial Internet of Things Edge
PrismTech™, a global leader in software platforms for distributed
systems, today announced Vortex™ Edge PMQ, a predictive analytics
solution for Edge Computing in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
Vortex Edge PMQ provides a fully integrated hardware, data connectivity
and analytics package which rapidly turns IIoT data into real-time
predictive maintenance insights and actions.
Many industrial organizations currently lack real-time visibility and
predictability of their assets' health and performance. Vortex Edge PMQ
enables organizations to address this problem head-on by providing an
integrated approach to the optimization of their physical assets,
operations and processes.
Vortex Edge PMQ uses real-time information collection to optimize
maintenance schedules, production processes and product quality by:
reducing unplanned downtime, predicting the best time to perform
maintenance on a monitored asset, uncovering process deficiencies that
can affect product quality, and identifying the root causes of asset
failures.
Vortex Edge PMQ was developed in partnership with ADLINK and IBM (News - Alert) Watson
IoT and thus leverages best-in-class IIoT Edge Computing hardware, data
connectivity software and predictive analytics technologies. This
powerful integrated hardware and software solution uses IBM Watson IoT's
Predictive Maintenance and Quality (PMQ) analytics solution, ADLINK's
Intel-based Smart Gateway (News - Alert) and Industrial Server hardware, and
PrismTech's real-time data connectivity software to provide true Edge
Computing in an IIoT context. This enables rapid provisioning,
deployment, execution and corrective actions to be taken wherever they
make most sense in an end-to-end IIT system.
Vortex Edge PMQ has been developed for asset-intensive organizations in
a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace and defense,
chemical and petroleum, manufacturing, consumer products, electronics,
energy and utilities, government, travel and transportation, and
telecommunications. The solution scales easily and employs a distributed
analytics architecture to handle the monitoring of tens of thousands of
Things, each of which can be continuously streaming multiple data points.
"As a leading technology and managed IT solutions provider helping
clients design, optimize and support mission-critical assets we believe
that the Vortex Edge PMQ solution addresses a very pressing IoT market
need by delivering real-time predictive analytics at the edge, negating
the latency issues of sending data to a centralized location to be
analyzed," said Chris Henry, EVP of Sales, SIS.
"We believe that the Vortex Edge PMQ turnkey approach to industrial
connectivity and asset maintenance can be 30 per cent more cost
effective than alternative solutions and represents a major step forward
for industrial organizations seeking to reduce operational costs, grow
revenues and manage risk," said Steve Jennis, Corporate VP and Head of
Global Marketing, ADLINK and PrismTech.
Vortex Edge PMQ is available now for selected pilot projects and will be
generally available in early 2017. Pricing for Vortex Edge PMQ is
available now upon request.
