Established in 2008, GReAT operates at the very heart of Kaspersky Lab, uncovering targeted attacks, cyber-espionage campaigns, major malware, ransomware, and underground cyber-criminal trends. Since the beginning of its operations GReAT and their 40+ talented security professionals located across the world has published research on some of the biggest cyber-attacks, including Stuxnet, Flame, Gauss, Red October, Equation Group, Regin, Epic Turla, Sofacy, Black Energy and others.

For almost a decade, Kaspersky Lab researchers have gained unprecedented experience investigating sophisticated cyberthreats, cooperating with Law enforcement agencies to fight cybercriminals, enhancing their skills, developing new detection technologies and many other exciting areas.

The important results from security researchers are clearly visible to the public - sophisticated threats are discovered and the world becomes a little (or even much) safer. But what's behind the scenes is often not widely known, and in some cases is even more interesting than the research itself. Given that transparency is one of the main principles of Kaspersky Lab, our security researchers are excited to share their insights, opinions and knowledge on any aspect of their work.
