The project, which has been in the works for more than a year, was designed to be users' in-the-know online Cleveland concierge. It goes beyond a simple entertainment calendar or list of restaurants; it serves smart, instant and trusted recommendations from area experts.

The guide is curated by writers and critics at cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, a group with decades of experience covering restaurants, bars and culture in Cleveland. The database houses an impressive list of recommendations with more than 1,100 Restaurant, Bar and Things to Do options alone.

Any search can be geographically-focused to one of 10 neighborhoods. Options include areas close to downtown such as Tremont and Ohio City to as expansive a geographic reach as "far east" and "far west."

The "Near Me" functionality is one that will prove useful for users on-the-go and visitors from out of town who may not know the neighborhoods well.
