The Samsung emPOWER Tomorrow Awards and Showcase on September 2
honoring Ninth Street School in Los Angeles to highlight girls in
STEM. In order to remove the stigma that science is just for boys,
Samsung emPOWER Tomorrow is a national educational growth program
designed to stimulate STEM awareness and learning of 4th and 5th
grade girls from developing communities in the U.S. The September
2 event will specifically celebrate the 13 promising girls from
Ninth Street School who completed the Samsung emPOWER Program this
summer. The commemorative event will showcase the girls'
accomplishments in STEM through fun and interesting activities,
such as directing movies using computer coding and fashion
designing with electrical engineering.

Congressman Xavier Becerra of California's 34th
Congressional District, and Ann Woo, director of corporate
citizenship at Samsung Electronics America, will be hosting the
