Globo Adds Industry-first Security Features for Complete Mobile Apps Lifecycle Management
Globo
Plc. (LSE-AIM: GBO), the global provider of enterprise mobility
management and application development platforms and services, today
released a market-leading version of its mobile application development
platform, GO!AppZone, with industry-first enhanced security features.
At Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) in Barcelona, Globo announced that its
GO!AppZone platform offers FIPS 140-2 certified encryption for
enterprise apps' secure development, deployment, management and
end-to-end usage across company networks. This move makes Globo the only
company that offers such security. Globo also announced similar
functionality for its GO!Enterprise platform recently.
Globo's announcement means organizations in regulated and public sector
markets such as finance, legal and healthcare, will be able to use the
GO!AppZone platform to develop highly secure, bespoke apps for a range
of mobile operating systems. Furthermore, these apps can then be
deployed in Globo's GO!Enterprise Secure Workspace with end-to-end
encryption meeting FIPS 140-2 security standards. As a result, new
business opportunities open up for enterprises and developers.
With IDC (News - Alert) analysts predicting that 3.3 million apps will be available by
the end of his year and that annual installs will reach 150 billion
(equating to nearly 50 apps per device per year), ensuring airtight
security and greater control of enterprise usage is of paramount
importance.
Announcing the new enhanced platform, Globo's CEO, Costis
Papadimitrakopoulos, said, "Until now, no single company had been able
to provide a one-stop shop for developing and deploying enterprise apps
meeting the most stringent security and encryption standards end-to-end."
"This release of GO!AppZone changes that and sets the new benchmark for
the industry," he added.
Globo also confirmed that the latest release of the GO!AppZone platform
provides continued support for Blackberry 10 handsets, which is being
phased out by some competitors. The company believes that continued
support of Blackberry 10 is particularly important in the regulated
markets where the handsets still command significant legacy market share.
Among other new, enhanced GO!AppZone features are improved support for
back-end system data integration and easier developer access to device
functionality.
Globo is demonstrating the enhanced GO!AppZone platform for enterprise
app development and deployment during Mobile World Congress at its booth
in Hall 8.1 - App Planet Stand 8.1 D49.
