has announced ‘Co Creation’ -- its vision for the future of mobile entertainment.
The company debuted this vision
at this week’s Mobile World Congress (News
) show, while launching a new collaborative online platform called Creations.
According to the equipment manufacturer, Creations is a completely new way to create, share and explore mobile content, from users’ phone to computer and finally the Sony Ericsson (News
) online community.
The Co Creation idea makes possible the evolving needs of consumers, content publishers and developers. It also involves making a platform through which developers can come together to personalize, share and continuously evolve and co-create mobile content.
The new Creations service is a cloud-based online collaboration platform that facilitates co-creation and for now Creations Beta offers personal and community storage and tools to make wallpapers and themes.
Officials with Sony Ericsson (News
) have stated that they believe that everybody can create something and their Creations platform is about bringing together people who want to create a mobile app even though they are of different background and skill sets. Developers can use the platform to create their contact for their content to be viewed or view other content generated by others, they can also share their own content with others and opt to enhance or repurpose it.
The company has invited developers to join the Creations network and play a vital role in enabling co-creation and co-innovation on the mobile web, as the service prepares to support applications in the coming months.
