The exhibit features a suite of advanced technologies for efficient wireless networks, a richer multimedia experience, and new mobile broadband capabilities.
In partnership with Attila Technologies, InterDigital demonstrated the ability to combine bandwidth across multiple wireless networks to improve quality of service, increase throughput, eliminate dropped connections and improve network resource utilization.
Company officials said that the underlying technology uses cognitive radio techniques, and an innovative network protocol coupled with deep packet inspection for aggregating multiple heterogeneous bandwidth sources.
The company collaborated with
HelloSoft and
Intrinsyc to showcase its Media Independent Handover (MIH) technology, the IEEE (

InterDigital’s MIH client runs on several types of wireless devices, and features distinct operating systems. Company officials said that it performs seamless handovers between live 3G and WiFi networks in two separate demonstrations.
It’s integrated with Hellosoft’s VoIP client on a Windows Mobile HTC smart phone to transfer voice calls, while with Intrinsyc’s RapidRIL/Connection Manager on the G1 with Android (

And, with the support from
GoldSpot Media, InterDigital highlights seamless multimedia transfers across devices and intelligent data optimization. During the demonstration, streaming video sessions were shared or transferred between several smart phones and laptops, whereby the video format is optimized for each device.
“Multi-faceted collaborations with companies like Attila, HelloSoft (
