ShowStoppers at Mobile World Congress Introduce New Company Products

Mobile World Congress 2010, Barcelona, Spain provided a big number of journalists, analysts and bloggers with a sneak preview of a range of new mobile and wireless products for work, home and play. These products had been showcased by 40 companies and innovators at a press-only showcase meet held as a part of the mega-event.

 

The meet, known as ShowStoppers @ Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) 2010 took place the night before the international mobile tradefair began. Journalists and media personalities got an early start on new product announcements, sneak previews, and news through the invitation only event. This was the third year of the event, which grew to 40 exhibiting companies, up from 25 exhibitors in 2009 and 14 in 2008.

 

Showstopper is a 17-year-old company that produces press-only events. It organizes a number of events that include company launches, product introductions, sneak previews and hands-on product demos for reporters, editors, columnists, bloggers and analysts who cover business, consumer, lifestyle and digital products for work, home and play. Its events are attended by a number of industry leaders, innovators, startups and upstart companies, which help the media personalities in generating news coverage and product reviews, make new connections, promote brand, and open new markets.

 

Peter Lindgren, CEO of VisiArc, a company that provide mobile solutionsthat bring the desktop experience to the mobile, commented that this was company’s first ShowStoppers event, and the launch for Mobile Documents.

 

In a release, Paris Welton of Connected PR said that ShowStoppers is a fantastic event. Connected PR is the public-relations agency for Plantronics (News - Alert), which has exhibited at ShowStoppers events in the United States and Europe for several years. The event is always full of relevant journalists keen to hear the latest news from Plantronics, Welton added.

 

The companies introducing new wireless products and mobile services at the event included the GSM Association, which organizes Mobile World Congress. A range of exhibitors also attended the ShowStoppers, including Alcatel-Lucent, Anam Mobile, Arantech, Aviat Networks (Harris Stratex (News - Alert)), Bitstream, CellTrust, Cibenix, Dazzboard / Linkotec, Dial2Do, Enterprise Ireland, EXFO, iTraffic, Jivo, mHealth, Multiplied Media / Poynt, NAVTEQ, Netcomm, NewBay Software (News - Alert), Newton Peripherals and Novatel.

 

In other news t month, CellTrust Corporation, a provider of secure mobile messaging and applications introduced its SecureSMS Appliance and Gateway at SHOWSTOPPERS @ Mobile World Congress 2010.
