Ixia and Rohde & Schwarz Jointly Carry out LTE Network Quality Testing
IxCatapult multi-UE simulator is used by eNode B manufacturers and service providers to assure in-depth quality from their wireless nodes. The R&S CMW500 LTE (News - Alert) protocol tester is up-to-date with the latest in LTE standard and is a popular tool for LTE handset development.
The demonstration is the result of joint testing activities and gives an example of a call setup between both instruments, running a multiple-bearer setup to simulate a realistic network scenario. Manufacturers and service providers can derive immense benefits by developing and deploying eNode B LTE components through a set of quality references and testing tools based on the IxCatapult multi-UE simulator.
“This joint demonstration is another example of the broad application range of the R&S CMW500 LTE Protocol Tester,” said Anton Messmer, director of subdivision mobile radio tester of Rohde & Schwarz (News - Alert). “Its unique flexibility and support of the latest standard developments supported Ixia in validating that their LTE UE simulator fulfills every facet of the LTE specification.”
In earlier testing, the Ixia LTE UE simulator applied more than 2500 functional, system and stability tests against the R&S CMW500 LTE protocol tester – validating the tests and procedures.
“This is a significant end-to-end demonstration of real world video and high speed data subscribers accessing video and content servers over LTE infrastructure,” said Victor Alston, senior vice president of Ixia. “This is not only a showcase of a full seamless LTE call flow but, more significantly, operators will see this as validation of the LTE promise to deliver leading video and media rich applications to users.”
Ixia has a proven track record in providing converged IP performance test systems and service verification platforms for wireless and wired infrastructures and services. TMCnet recently reported that Ixia has unveiled a new VoIP testing solution for IP-PBXs, softswitches and call managers.
