Patton Electronics Launches Two New Systems at Mobile World Congress

Patton (News - Alert) Electronics is currently debuting two new technology products, SmartNode 10K and BODi bandwidth-on-demand Internet routers, at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) in Barcelona this week.

Both technologies are geared toward wireless carrier-providers, and will provide fixed-mobile convergence and cloud-based services for businesses, institutions, transportation and M2M applications.

SmartNode 10K TDM + VoIP Media Gateways will enable carrier-placed transitions to an IP connection, and allow SS7 edge, core and peer zones to be connected with new-generation MEGACO and SIP networks. In addition, the product will offer fixed-mobile convergence, as well as customized ringback, background audio, number spoofing, ads-for-minutes and other value-added services.

“Transitioning to converged IP is no sprint,” Burton A. Patton, executive vice president of Patton Electronics, said in a statement. “It’s a long run. SmartNode 10K gateways facilitate long-term migration plans by concurrently supporting TDM, IP, and hybrid architectures. The integrated SS7 stack ensures global carrier interop, and yet carrier-grade redundancy is a major strength. With N+1 and 1+1 options, the SmartNode 10k enables true ‘five-nines’ reliability.”

BODi bandwidth-on-demand Internet routers will provide a fast and reliable Internet connection over bonded multi-link 3G, 4G and VSAT by combining WAN load balancing with VPN bonding. The product provides fixed and mobile enterprises of all sizes with a cost-effective, on-demand bandwidth aggregation solution by bonding a maximum of seven 3G/4G/LTE, Wi-Fi/WiMAX (News - Alert), VSAT or wired links.

“BODi offers a unique mobile broadband experience,” said Brian Lawlor, product manager. “These powerful fixed-mobile routers combine up to seven wired and wireless broadband connections – plus a Wi-Fi hotspot and Wi-Fi WAN – all in a single unit.”

Besides Patton Electronics' new technologies, and countless other products and solutions are being showcased at the Mobile World Congress this week. These include Novatel Wireless' (News - Alert) cloud-based N4A Device Manager, Netgear's (News - Alert) new mobile broadband voice gateway, MVBR1517, and Quantance's Q845 qBoost ET Power Supply.
