Samsung Brings the Galaxy to Las Vegas

Samsung kicked off CTIA 2010 with the introduction of the I9000 Galaxy S, an Android (News - Alert) 2.1 smartphone equipped with a four-inch, 800 x 480 pixel AMOLED screen, a 1GHz processor for HD video playback, a hub for staying connected to facebook and other social media outlets.
The AMOLED screen gives the handset an otherworldly quality: It features the mobile Digital Natural Imagine engine, which Samsung (News - Alert) also implements inside its LCD and LED televisions, at least one report noted.
The phone also comes with the Swype (News - Alert) virtual QWERTY keyboard for quick, easy texting, ThinkFree for opening and editing Microsoft Office 2007 documents, and a cradle so the device can double as an alarm clock or photo frame.
Did we mention the 5 megapixel camera?
That, plus built-in GPS, WiFi (News - Alert) network support, Bluetooth support and an accelerometer make it quite a handy gadget. Our only question is, when will it land on earth? I’d love to get the Galaxy into my hands any day now!
