SouthWing Adds Voice on the Go Application to its Bluetooth Headsets

SouthWing and Voice on the Go (News - Alert) have teamed up to jointly release new, enhanced Bluetooth headsets. The headset, on display at the CTIA Wireless (News - Alert) 2008 show this week at SouthWing’s booth, provides hands-free access to e-mail and other applications.

SouthWing (News - Alert) develops and markets wireless devices and applications for mobile operators. It customizes products to each operator’s specific needs in terms of design, embedded technology and easy access to operator services. The company mostly focuses on what it calls “intelligent” Bluetooth headsets, wireless devices and service platforms designed to help mobile operators boost average revenue per user (ARPU).

Voice on the Go is a mobile voice application that enables consumers to access e-mail, contacts, calendar and other content ‘by voice’ on any mobile phone, BlackBerry smartphone, Apple iPhone (News - Alert) or Windows Mobile phone.

Voice on the Go also enables subscribers to listen to, compose, reply and forward e-mail message using voice commands. This functionality is very useful to motorists because it enables them to drive and manage e-mails at the same time.

SouthWing’s patent-pending headsets are being packaged with Voice on the Go, providing more value subscribers and operators.

"Our new partnership with SouthWing will help accelerate the already explosive growth of Voice on the Go in the mobile consumer market," said Simon Arnison, CEO of Voice on the Go, in a statement. "SouthWing's strong retail distribution channel, brand recognition and innovative technology combined with Voice on the Go's fast growing, world-leading voice application is the first of its kind bundled product offering."

"With email being an essential part of everyday life, it's exciting to be able to offer Voice on the Go combined with SouthWing's state of the art headsets to the mobile marketplace," said Bart Huisken, founder and Chairman of SouthWing, in a statement.

Voice on the Go can be activated quickly without any voice training or software downloads. SouthWing headsets are available through the company’s SouthWing's U.S. mobile operators and distributors (including Telefónica, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone (News - Alert) and AT&T).

Voice on the Go is available in a variety of languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
