AirWalk makes IP CDMA radio access network (IP-RAN) products for 3G voice and data platforms. Its products are modular and stackable, and operate on the global CDMA licensed frequencies.

 

EdgePoint is a compact femtocell that provides extended cellular coverage for areas with poor reception. Integrated into each femtocell is a base station transceiver, base station controller, and network interfaces. These units can be configured for either 1xEV-DO Rev.A or 1xRTT. 1xEV-DO Rev 0 (1xEvolution Data Optimized). Range is about 250 feet.

 

With femtocell solutions like AirWalk’s, carriers can use existing home IP backhaul technologies for the EdgePoint traffic, thereby reducing operating costs.

 

EdgePoint can be plugged in directly into a DSL or cable broadband connection, and can be configured for use with existing handsets and laptop computers.
