PC Gaming Tablet Showcased by Razer at CES
The Project Fiona PC Gaming Tablet was the newest gaming concept design unveiled by Razer at CES (News - Alert) 2012 last week. The most popular PC games of today can be played with an intuitive control setup with this tablet concept, Project Fiona.
The power of Intel’s (News - Alert) third generation Intel Core i7 processor has been harnessed by Razer in Project Fiona. There is no need for the games to be ported, optimized, or developed from scratch as many PC games currently run natively on the tablet concept. One of the most powerful processors integrated in a tablet form factor will be featured by Project Fiona.
In a release, Brad Graff, director of Partner Marketing, Netbook & Tablet Group at Intel, said, "Project Fiona's combination of high performance Intel-based gaming hardware and innovative tablet design is specifically focused for PC gamers. It will unleash the PC gamer to play their existing and future high-end games in one of the most exciting new form factors – a tablet."
An all-new hybrid user interface scheme for Project Fiona has been developed by Razer's multi-award winning user interface and ergonomics team. Project Fiona features integrated dual game controllers with ultra-precise analog sticks, so gamepad-enabled PC games can be run by Project Fiona right out of the box. Ultra-precise accelerometers and a highly sensitive multi-touch screen are also included in Project Fiona.
Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer, said, "While multi-touch screens have become the de facto user interface for tablets, they are not the right interface for serious PC gaming. The user interface we have designed for Project Fiona allows all existing PC games to be played right out of the box and also provides game developers new opportunities as they develop next-gen games on a highly-intuitive platform."
