Huawei Introduces World's Thinnest Smartphone at CES
Priced at around $400, Ascend P1 S comes with 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera, and renders support for USB 3.0. The phone runs on the Android (News - Alert) 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
According to Huawei Chairman Richard Yu, the phone will make its debut in European and U.S. markets around April. Yu said the smartphone is impeccable in performance and will surely prove its worth in these markets.
"We want to use hero products to establish our brand," said Yu, referring to products that help to enhance a company's reputation and public image.
David Mei, a Huawei (News - Alert) product manager, said the launch of the smartphone is the first step from the company to cement a place in the American and European smartphones market. However, Mei said “It will take time, but we just have to prove ourselves."

Huawei also recently unveiled its new MediaPad color series. Its fashionable MediaPads run in three new colors --shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink -- and run on Android 3.2. Both MediaPad versions have a high-quality display, with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 217 PPI and support 1080P Full HD video playback.
