South Korean MP3 player developer Ezmax Co. Ltd. announced it will begin selling this May a hybrid MP3 player/VoIP device that will allow users to download and listen to MP3 files, as well as place and receive VoIP-based calls.
The device, named EZMP4200P, is equipped with software which enables a link to an Internet-connected PC via a USB 2.0 port, allowing users to make local and international calls using a microphone that is included in the device's earphone cord. The device's software is compatible with MS Windows 2000 as well as more current editions. The company has plans to make the device’s software Mac OS X-compatible.
The device is 70x24 millimeters in diameter, and weighs 24 grams without the AAA-size battery. The device plays MP3, WMA, ASF and Ogg music files. The EZMP4200P also records voice, and is equipped with an FM radio, and it also has a two-color (blue and yellow) 128 pixel by 64 pixel OLED screen, according to the company.
