eStara announced today that it was tapped by A9.com, Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., to provide VoIP technology for the Click-to-Call feature highlighted in its recent launch of "A9.com Yellow Pages." The Click-to-Call tool would allow customers to connect with businesses with just a click of a mouse.
The new agreement will allow A9.com's Click-to-Call users to place both PC-to-phone and phone-to-phone calls and requiring no additional hardware or software installation. eStara's click to call service, called Push to Talk, connects both the user and the business in a live voice conversation after a customer's phone number is entered online. Users in search of additional information would be able to simply pick up their phone when it rings and are connected with the listed business. A demo of the eStara's Push-to-Talk service powering A9.com Yellow Pages Click-to-Call is available at its Web site.
"More than 70 percent of Push-to-Talk callers say they used our service while online to make an appointment, reservation or purchase or to get product or service information," said Brad Timchuk, senior vice president of eStara. "eStara's VoIP Push to Talk technology is the most widely deployed click to call service in the world, and offers A9.com a key differentiator in the local search market. We are happy that A9.com Yellow Pages chose us to help provide their users more of what they want -- real-time connections with businesses in their area."
eStara offers VoIP communication services designed to connect buyers and sellers, including Push-to-Talk, local and toll-free call tracking, and pay-per-call services. The company says its directory customers like Verizon SuperPages, Lawyers.com and Findexa chose eStara to meet business goals, pricing models and strategic interests.
