In HM-Hierarchical Modulation, two separate data streams are modulated onto a single DVB-T stream. One stream is called HP-High Priority is embedded within a LP-Low Priority stream. For example within a 64QAM-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, there are 6 bits for data transmission. In Hierarchical Modulation, the 2 most significant bits (first bits) would be used for mobile HP-High Priority applications and the other 4 bits for HDTV-High Definition TeleVision.
