This tutorial covers WiFi Authentication and Association as well as other issues related to network Authentication, Authorization and Accounting. While users complain about too many logins, the "over-the-air available to the public" Radio Frequency aspect of WiFi networks makes them more accessible to hackers which requires additional levels of security. SSID is a 32-character (0-32 bytes) unique name attached to the header of packets sent over a WLAN that acts as a password when a mobile device tries to connect to the Access Point. Because an SSID can be sniffed (monitored and stolen) from a packet, it does not supply any security to the network.
