A Softswitch server provides call routing and Authorization, Authentication and Accounting functions as well as signaling and switching control interface to and from gateways. Access Data Gateway provides the voice and data conversion between CPE-Customer Premise Equipment clients and data backbone networks. ADG systems include: DSLAM, Cable Modem Head ends, Satellite access points and metro-ethernet POPs.
