Sridhar Ramachandran is Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of NextPoint Networks. He co-founded NexTone in February of 1998, bringing to the company a wealth of technical and business background in the telecom and datacom industry. His unique insights led to the creation of the Session Border Controller (SBC), a $650M market that fundamentally changed the way telecom operators build out their networks. Mr. Ramachandran became Chief Technical Officer of NextPoint when NexTone merged with Reef Point Systems in January 2008. Throughout his career, Mr. Ramachandran has been at the forefront of networking technology and has influenced the communications industry tremendously with innovative products that have been very successful in the marketplace. He worked at GE Spacenet, Bay Networks and Hughes Network Systems before he founded NexTone Communications. Mr. Ramachandran earned his B.S. in Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai (Madras), India. He has a M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
