Abstract:

Demand for mobile services continues to increase at a phenomenal rate, both in terms of
the number of subscribers and the bandwidth per subscriber. To remain competitive and
reduce the potential for churn, mobile operators need to be able to grow their networks’
capacity in line with the growth in demand. However, they also need to manage the TCO
of their networks to ensure service delivery costs are in line with revenues. A key factor
contributing to their overall success is the efficiency of their mobile backhaul networks.
